Holiday: Thanksgiving 2017

Aw Snap! 

Who woulda thought Shanghai, China would be full of so many Black Folks — not just from America — but all over the world?

I joined a few Black Social Media groups before I arrived in China. This was very instrumental for me having a smooth transition to life in Asia. I was able to connect with a lot of people before arriving, ask questions, find out more about the area where I would be living (more than what Google would tell me), and just, well, you know …. feel as much as home as possible.  I meeeean— where would I find my hair products – and the best places to eat??? How would I learn these Shanghai streets???  Needed to connect with my people who have been here for some time.

Community is everything. If you know me you know that I am all about relationships. They mean so much to me. So connecting with this group has been pretty great.

I was actually talking so much (now that you can believe) I almost missed the group photo, but we can’t have that can we?

 

lots of great food….felt as close to home as possible…and lots of trash talking at the spades and dominoes table…. old school 90’s and early 2000’s music with just a tough of some recent stuff… laughs-smiles-good times –

When I started the day I had absolutely no plans then I received an invite to this dinner. Perfect First Thanksgiving Abroad.
